Do We Really Have to Unpack It All to Heal?

I heard a discussion on this topic recently. Probably a podcast or reel or TikTok therapist, to be honest. And I tried to remember it the best I could, because it really resonated. Just hours before, I’d been on a discovery call with a client who was feeling overwhelmed and unsure whether she was ready to commit to healing work. Her question echoed the same place this quote was pointing to. She said, “I just don’t think I can circle all the way back through my life in order to heal. Living today is enough. Healing today is enough.”
Why we do it might not even matter as much as knowing we don't want to do it anymore.
This was also talked about. And I thought, there it is. The permission. The pivot point. This is where the shift becomes possible. Just because it started in childhood doesn’t mean it has to continue into adulthood.
All that unpacking you think you need to do might just be another way to delay creating a change.
I recognize this struggle myself and see so many of my clients sitting at that exact intersection.
It’s one of the biggest reasons many of us avoid healing work in the first place.
We think we have to dig through every single box, open every drawer, dig up every root and understand every why.
And while that may feel noble or even necessary, it isn’t always useful.
Sometimes we only need to look in the boxes that are affecting today, the ones that keep showing up in your decisions, recycling the same tired feelings through your nervous system. These are the ones that echo so loudly they make it hard to be here, now.
And even then, we’re not going in there to get stuck.
There’s this emotional and synaptic reflection point, a kind of imprint reverberation, and we can feel exactly where something landed in our body. And if we’re paying attention, we can trace the thread to how we learned to make decisions back then, when we had fewer choices, less power, and no roadmap.
But now? Now we’re in a more empowered place. We are more emotionally intelligent and energetically present. We’re not in the childhood or early years system anymore. We’re not in the tiny heart with no backup plan, and we are no longer as vulnerable and unprotected.
In my decades of work, I respect and hold sacred those early experiences. I know the impact of gently tending to that version. And yet I've also come to learn, we do not necessarily need to spend the same number of decades healing as we did surviving. That math just doesn’t hold true.
Healing is not a balanced equation. It doesn’t always require matching the depth of the wound with an equal depth of excavation. Sometimes, all we need is to find the imprint and feel where it lives. We can let the reverberation tell us what’s still true.
Then we decide: Who do I want to be now? How do I want to live? What behavior authentically serves the present moment and the life I am living.
That is where our power is. Not just in healing the past. But in choosing the present and claiming the future.
What if healing didn’t mean becoming an archaeologist of your own pain?
If you're feeling ready to live from this place—this empowered, present-moment self—I'd be honored to walk beside you.
In Soul Sessions, we don’t spend endless hours digging unless that’s what’s calling you. We look at what’s alive right now. We follow the imprint, the thread, the resonance. We honor what shaped you—and we focus on what frees you.
Whether you’re navigating an awakening, sitting with grief, reclaiming your voice, or simply tired of looping in old patterns, we’ll use channeled insight, somatic wisdom, and soul-level remembrance to support your next becoming.
There are many ways to work with me. Together, we’ll listen for what wants to emerge—then anchor it in the body, the breath, and your actual life.
The point of power is always in the present moment.
You may be asking yourself, "If I’m willing to start—what does that even look like?"
A Soul Session meets you where you are. We begin with what’s alive right now—a feeling, a pattern, a stuck place, a longing. We bring it into the body. We listen for the imprint. And then, only if it’s useful, we follow it into memory or soul territory.
Some sessions stay close to the surface. Others go deep. Some open the doors to past life or ancestral healing. Others are simple moments of reclamation, clarity, or relief.
The difference is: we’re not doing it to stay in the story.
We’re doing it to shift the energy. To change the pattern. To make a new choice and embody it now.
When you book a Soul Session, this is the path we will walk together.
We start with what’s present.
What’s showing up in your life right now—a pattern, emotion, relationship dynamic, exhaustion, restlessness, or a sense of something wanting to shift.
We invite it into the body.
Where does it live? What does it feel like? We let your nervous system speak.
We listen for what it echoes.
Sometimes that takes us to childhood. Sometimes it takes us beyond this lifetime. Sometimes it just softens right in the moment. We don’t force it—we follow it.
We open the soul field.
If it’s aligned, I’ll bring in intuitive insight or channeled messages from SEWA and the Council of Light. We might meet protector parts, past life energy, or soul memories that want to be reclaimed.
We return to choice.
This is the key. You don’t just gain awareness—you shift the energy. You choose a new behavior, a new boundary, a new belief. And you anchor it in the body so it sticks.
We stay rooted in now.
Who are you becoming? What’s different already? What support do you need next?
So ask yourself, What would change if the goal wasn’t only to understand your past, but to rewire your present?
